In Studio Podcast: Florence and the Machine



Florence and the Machine have had a very good year.

The band, which sprouted off the bedroom recordings of British singer Florence Welsh, won an award – The Brits Critics' Choice Selection – for their debut album, Lungs, before it was even released. When it was released, in July of 2009, sales of Lungs were brisk in Britain, second on the charts only to Michael Jackson in the wake of his death. And the acclaim continued, landing Welsh and her bandmates on the shortlist for Britain's top critical music award, the Mercury Music Prize.

On a recent tour stop in Toronto, Florence Welsh stopped by the Post for a chat with Brad Frenette and to perform a pair of songs: Rabbit Heart and Kiss With A Fist.
