Gossip Girl

Looks like theory of Flo's and Blake Lively's friendship is true! Florence + The Machine have already recorded an acoustic performance of Cosmic Love to be seen in season 4 episode 14 of Gossip Girl - Panic Roommate. The episode will be aired on the 7th of February in the US on The CW 9/8c.

Inside Out London: Making The Harp Hip

The harp's image has always been seen as somewhat regal. However, all that is changing and the time has come for the harp to be hip.
In the past the instrument tended to be associated with classical concerts, folk music or musicians playing at weddings, eisteddfods and on cruise ship liners.
This most ancient of instruments is now going through a rock and roll renaissance as illustrated by artists such as Joanna Newsom, Dizzee Rascal and Florence and the Machine.
Tom Moth is Florence and the Machine's harpist and he is happy that the harp's image is changing.
"People have still got this very fixed impression of what the harp is and what it is used for. And it would be nice if hopefully at some point people come to accept it in other forms of music.
"I don't see any reason why harps shouldn't be accepted in that scenario anymore than guitars. It's not the instrument, it's how you play it."
The harp is also a big part of Lucinda Belle's life. She started playing when she was six and has developed a life-long passion for the instrument.
Lucinda said, "It's so important that we keep this alive."

Nick Grimshaw Interview with Drake

On Sunday he [Drake] was in the studio with Florence

I went to the studio with Flo... The night after the VMAs we went to the studio and we just clicked... Mairead, Stuart everyone is great... Yeah we were both big Florence fans.

It was a great moment I think it's just the place we were at, at the moment with the Grammy and VMA recognition... It was a real shit show we were wasted [Whilst in the studio on Sunday].. I think Tabs was filming... I can't wait for the world to hear the music... It was incredible.

Also Drake is working with Jamie xx.

The Life, The Love and The Grateful

Flo and Drake due to collaborate?

By the looks of an article posted on the Daily Mail website it seems that Flo and Drake are rumoured to collaborate in the studio.

While Florence's appearance during the gig came as a surprise for the hundreds of fans at the event, she has remained friends with Drake since they met at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles last year.
And now it's claimed the pair have made plans to collaborate on a new track, which will be the first single from Florence And The Machine's follow-up to their debut album Lungs.

Although it seems unlikely that it will be her first run up single it is perhaps that the track may still happen.

Drake and Flo

As you may already know Florence "+ crew" went to see Drake perform at the HMV Apollo but little did we know that yesterday (08/01/2011) they would be singing together. Florence provided the vocals that Alicia Keys usually sings on Drake's track Fireworks. Check the footage out here or here!

As previously reported Ivan Ink 'n' Isa will be playing at the Barfly in London on the 28th however it is 18+ and you can buy tickets here for £5. Also their "competition" is that the first 20 to go through the doors at the gig will receive a signed copy of their EP ten days before the release date.

Looks like Flo was in the studio today and it also seems that Lungs producer Paul Epworth is also walking on next F+TM instalment.

Started with Flo this morning. Mellotrons, RJDJ bits, qchords and iPad harps are the order of the day. Good to be back.

Ivan Ink 'n' Isa Tour

According to Brink Records (II'n'I's label) they shall perform their first live show at the Barfly Club, London in January (Reported rehearsing 13 days go) although when I look at the club's listing I couldn't find them so the show may have been cancelled. Also it says the duo were to tour in November which I assume meant this year (Tweet 86 days go) as they said about the EP in 2011 and there weren't any last year.
