Florence and the Machine Tapped to Open for U2
Capitalizing on a great 2010, Florence and the Machine have been chosen to open a pair of dates on U2's rescheduled North American Stadium Tour next summer. English pop sensation Florence Welch and her band will bring such hits as 'Kiss With a Fist' and 'Dog Days Are Over' to Bono's disciples as the support act for gigs in East Lansing and Miami next June.
U2 made the announcement on their official website late Wednesday. Aside from that change, the Irish rock giants will still embrace the openers it had originally planned for this summer's 360 Tour prior to its postponement. Those shows were bumped to 2011 after Bono underwent treatment and recovery for a debilitating back injury this past May.

Flo + Stuart at jewellery launch
Cheryl Cole hosted a party last night in London for "Promise", a ring collection for jewellery company de Grisogono. She looked gorgeous and glam in a gold dress as she caught up with her Girls Aloud pals Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts, who were both joined by their boyfriends at the bash. Selena Gomez also attended in some eye-catching sequinned leggings, while Florence Welch looked fab carrying her leopard print bag.

She may sing along on Julia Roberts' new movie but don't expect Florence Welch to watch it.
Flo & The Machine's hit Dog Days Are Over appears in Julia's Eat Pray Love but the singer admits: "I haven't seen it. I've got such a short attention span. I find it quite hard to sit in the cinema for a long period of time."
